Evaluation and Assessment Strategies
In this course, you have seen many ways that apps can be used at various levels of Bloom's Taxonomy. The interactive features of Nearpod provide a great opportunity to do quick formative assessments and to see how students are making connections through "draw it," "polls," and "quizzes," with immediate feedback. In my teaching experience, I have used the drawing tool in presentations that allows students to create graphic organizers, analyze problems, label diagrams, annotate passages, and apply content just learned. In this module a reflecting tool called Mirroring 360 was used to demonstrate the student view of a presentation in Nearpod. Student responses can be projected immediately via a reflecting tool as they complete them for class discussion and reflection. The quiz feature does not reveal student names and provides a helpful pie chart letting you know the percentage of students that correctly answered each question. On the companion website, you can look at reports that will allow you to quickly analyze the results to see if your instructional goals were met.
